Industry Updates: Navigating the Changing Landscape

As we move through Q2, the energy landscape continues to evolve. Notably, two major Michigan utilities have submitted proposals for significant rate increases. DTE Energy is seeking a $574 million rate increase, which could raise electric bills by $13.50 a month starting in 2026. Our recent projects highlight the diverse applications and benefits of solar energy. One standout project is a 24.8kW solar array installed on a south-facing roof of a local Michigan business. This installation is not only helping the business manage operational costs but also driving long-term savings by supporting daily energy demands. 

In the Midwest, the dairy industry is increasingly turning to solar to cut electricity costs and gain control over long-term operating expenses. We've been busy installing on-site solar arrays on dairy farms, making great use of open land and addressing their high energy demands with sustainable solutions.

In Illinois, a farm in Mendota is benefiting from a 19.20kW roof-mounted solar system. With various financing options available, farmers and business owners in Illinois have more opportunities than ever to reduce payback time and take control of their energy future.
