As another quarter comes to a close, we're taking a moment to reflect on the exciting progress we've made and share some of the highlights from Q2. From major developments in the solar industry to inspiring customer projects, employee achievements, and community partnerships, it's been a busy few months at Harvest Solar.
Here's a look back at what we've been up to, and what's ahead.
What's New in the World of Solar?
Consumers Energy has filed a request for a $456 million electric rate increase, the largest it has sought in more than two decades and coming just months after another approve rate hike. Read the Full Article Here
According to a new report from the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and Wood Mackenzie, solar and energy storage accounted for 91% of all new power capacity added to the U.S. grid in the first quarter of 2026. The report also found that the nation surpassed 6 million solar installations, highlighting the growing role of solar in meeting rising electricity demand. Access the Full Story Here
Solar Spotlight: Recent Project Highlights
Every solar installation represents a customer's commitment to reducing operating costs and investing in the future. Here are a few projects we're especially proud to have completed.
Dream Winds Dairy Powers Growth with Solar
Dream Winds Dairy, a first-generation dairy farm in Michigan, recently installed a 100.8 kW solar system designed to offset approximately 60% of its daytime electricity usage. Dairy operations require dependable power around the clock, making energy costs a significant operating expense. By investing in solar, Dream Winds Dairy is expected to save more than $2.2 million in utility costs over the next 30 years, helping stabilize expenses while supporting continued growth for the farm.
Elevated Ground Mount Provides Energy and Livestock Shade
This IL farm demonstrates that solar can provide benefits beyond electricity generation. This 20.37 kW elevated ground-mounted solar system installed on an Illinois farm generates clean energy while also creating valuable shade for livestock below. Thanks to available Illinois solar incentives, the project is expected to achieve an incredibly fast return on investment, paying for itself in less than a year.
Celebrating Team Milestones
The success of Harvest Solar is driven by the talented people behind every project. We're proud to recognize several employees who reached important professional milestones this quarter.

Congratulations, Joey!
A big congratulations goes to Joey for completing his MiOSHA Level 1 Safety & Health Certification. Safety remains one of our highest priorities, and accomplishments like this help ensure every project is completed with the highest standards of quality and care.
Strengthening Connections Across the Industry
This quarter, we were pleased to welcome the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association to our headquarters for a Lunch & Learn event.
Guests heard from our team about Harvest Solar's work throughout the Midwest before touring several local solar installations within our community. Opportunities like these allow us to share industry knowledge, strengthen partnerships, and showcase the real-world impact of commercial and agricultural solar projects.

We were honored to be part of the MIEBC 14th Annual Michigan Energy Innovators Conference. Our President, Lucas Olinyk, joined fellow industry leaders on a panel discussing what it takes to make projects "pencil" in today's evolving energy landscape.
The Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council team put together an outstanding event, and we truly appreciated the opportunity for our leadership team to spend the day networking, learning, collaborating, and sharing insights from across the industry.
